Consortium of partners


The EUMEDGRID-Support Consortium has been built on the successful experience of the EUMEDGRID project and contains almost all the stakeholders of e-Infrastructures (both network and grid) in the area of the Mediterranean. This ensures the continuation of the best practices and policies developed by EUMEDGRID.

The benefeciaries constitute a consortium made of 14 partners from several Mediterranean Countries.

7 are from Member States: Cyprus: CYNET - Cyprus Research and Academic Network, France: CNRS-IDG - Centre national de la recherche scientifique, Italy: INFN - Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, COMETA - COnsorzio Multi Ente per la promozione e l'adozione di Tecnologie di calcolo Avanzato, GARR - Consortium GARR, Malta: UOM - University of Malta, United Kingdom: TRUST-IT - Trust-IT Services.

1 from Associated countries: Turkey: TUBITAK-ULAKBIM - TUBITAK ULusal AKademik ag ve BIlgi Merkezi.

The others are from Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) as part of the list of International Co-operation Partner Countries (ICPC): Algeria: CERIST - CEntre de Recherche sur l'Information Scientifique et Technique, Egypt: EUN, - Egyptian Universities Network, Jordan: JUNet - Jordanian University Network, Morocco: CNRST - Centre National pour la Recherche Scientifique et Technique, Syria: HIAST - Higher Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology, Tunisia: CCK - Centre de Calcul el Khawarezmi.

The Consortium is well balanced between Member States or Associated countries and non-EU countries allowing an almost total coverage of the geographical area. The partners were chosen among those originally forming the core of EUMEDGRID project and new ones which could bring added value to the EUMEDGRID-Support proposal and activities.
