Sustainable e-infrastructures across Europe and India

The vision of a worldwide Grid for Research is embraced by both Europe and India and responds to the need for scientific collaborations in a networked world to address grand global challenges. This forms the basis of the Knowledge Society of the future supporting a wide-range of communities leveraging ICT infrastructures for complex problem solving to advance research across borders.
EUIndiaGrid2 capitalises on the achievements of EUIndiaGrid by acting as a bridge across European and Indian e-infrastructures to foster evolution in these regions and to ensure sustainable scientific, educational and technological collaboration.

EU-IndiaGrid2 Objectives:

• Support specific user communities in the exploitation of grid infrastructure in areas strategic for EU-Indian collaboration.
• Ensure a sustainable approach to e-Infrastructures across Europe and India through dissemination actions, meetings & workshops.
• Foster and enhance cooperation with other European Initiatives in the Asian region and worldwide.

EU-IndiaGrid Target Results include:

• Interaction with 4 user communities - Climate change, High Energy Physics, Biology & Material Science.
• Cooperation with EU funded regional projects like EELA2, EuAsiaGrid, SEEGRIDSCI and EUMEDSupport-GRID.
• Organisation of 4 thematic workshops & 1 international climate change event.
